Helping the VA Puget Sound be COVID-19 ready

Nationwide, we have seen people and businesses working together to help with the public response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Companies are coming together by repurposing their production line to help meet the demand for lifesaving medical equipment, hygienic masks, sanitizing products and other items that are in short supply.1 And at Clarus, we’re doing our part, too.

The Clarus glassboards are essential in hospital settings to support communication between patients and staff. More importantly, healthcare settings require non-porous, sanitary fixtures and surfaces to adhere to the strict sanitation requirements. In a recent study, Clarus boards outperformed traditional whiteboards, proving that even after extensive bacteria exposure, the Clarus glassboards were fully sanitized to a food-grade safe level.2

Knowing that our antimicrobial communication boards are the ideal choice in hospital settings, we received an urgent call on March 18 from Seattle, Washington Puget Sound VA Medical Center requesting 18 communication boards for a COVID-19 clinic. And they needed these boards in just four days.

Eager to do our part and help with the pandemic, the Clarus team jumped into action to start producing all 18 2’x3’ Float patient communication boards in less than five hours. All boards were fabricated, built, crated and shipped out of our Fort Worth, Texas facility within the same day. We assigned a dedicated delivery crew to personally deliver the boards quickly and safely to the Seattle VA Medical Center. They drove 32 hours, halfway across the country, and the communication boards arrived on time for new COVID-19 clinic.

These unprecedented times call for extraordinary measures. We’re still operating at 100% capacity, and we are committed to doing whatever is needed. At Clarus, we are proud to be doing our part by supporting those on the front line during this Coronavirus crisis with durable and hygienic glassboards.

We are always here and ready to serve you!
